He has appeared in every level of court in the Province, from the Provincial Court of British Columbia to the Supreme Court of Canada and has been counsel in cases in administrative tribunals, commercial arbitrations and mediations.  Since 1992, he has also been a member of the Yukon bar.

Formerly a law clerk to judges of both the Supreme Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of British Columbia and a sessional law professor at University of Ottawa, he co-authored  the 2nd edition of the Canadian Law of Architecture and Engineering (1994) with Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin of the Supreme Court of Canada and W.J.
